November was an interesting month for RDP. Many of you know, my husband and I went on an big milestone anniversary trip to Italy. The last day there, I tripped and broke my foot. I will spare you the details, but let’s just say, I was having a lot of fun and we got to see everything we wanted and it was fabulous!
So…due to the wonderful internet and this is kinda cool actually, technology rocks, but I was able to secure a second shooter to help out with Christina and Nick’s wedding HOURS after I broke my foot and at least a day before we even arrived back in the states. I think back to times before the www – and it’s just amazing how we are able to communicate these days. Anyhow, the foot occurred on 10-21 and the wedding was 11-3, so roughly about 13 days. About 4 days before their wedding, my foot was feeling REALLY good for being broken and I was taking NO chances. I pretty much laid on the couch as I had readied all the equipment before we even left for Italy. For once I did something smart – haha.
There were tons of obstacles on the wedding day, the biggest being the weather. True to Houston and our everchanging climate…it decided to storm this day, and lightning, and the usual afternoon thunderstorm mayhem. We figured it would clear out by 6 or 7pm, but it drizzled the rest of the evening. It all worked out great though, Christina was amazing in the fact that she was not terrified of getting her dress a little wet while we did pictures – love that! So I am going to be trickling these photos out, since the wedding I had surgery on the same foot I broke to hopefully fix a wicked case of plantar fascitis and a neuroma that popped up as a result. That happened on November 8th, so as you can tell, my past month has been totally whacked out.
So just one from this set so far…I will add more posts as I complete the editing, which is honestly, pretty far behind what my normal delivery schedule would be, but am hoping to catch up this weekend, as I will NOT be joining into any post Thanksgiving shopping. I plan on eating turkey, pie (lots of pie), visiting with family, watching movies with my foot up, and editing. I hope everyone has a safe holiday, drive careful, and eat till your pants pop!
